RMD Brunel

In 2021 during the inception of Brunel Medical School, Dr Aaron Sharma Hewitt introduced the RMD scheme to Brunel University London, creating the fourth RMD site in the UK.  

RMD Brunel currently delivers interprofessional peer-led BLS training to students on the Physician Associate, Nursing and Medical degree programmes and is planning the roll-out to Occupational and Physiotherapy degree programmes in the coming years.  

To date, RMD Brunel has delivered BLS training to 200 students and continues to deliver training to 180-200 students annually with this due to increase to 340-350 students annually as the RMD Brunel site expands. 

At RMD Brunel the senior faculty consists of the ERC Course Director, Co-Directors who are senior staff members within each of the degree programmes involved, a member of Professional Services staff as Course Organiser, as well as staff members who lead on the oversight of the research and community outreach arms of the RMD programme. 

Our BLS courses are delivered in the Medical School with state of the art equipment procured specifically for RMD.
